GetSet WNC

Helping Young Children Thrive, Learn & Grow

GetSet WNC is an engaged community that values our young children and their families and strives to achieve the best educational, health, and developmental outcomes by creating nurturing, thoughtful, and collaborative community-based resources and connections.

What does GetSet WNC do?

This initiative is working to expand Sesame Street in Communities (SSIC) across Western North Carolina. GetSet WNC works in partnership with Raising Resilience WNC, a collaborative group of the western regional Smart Start partners. North Carolina’s Smart Start Network collaborates within its local communities to design evidence-based services in early childhood.

Raising Resilience WNC

Raising Resilience WNC has designed a locally responsive approach to building resilient communities involving three approaches to implement over three years, leading to a systems-level impact across the region.

The three approaches of this project include a regional expansion of Sesame Street In Communities through GetSet WNC, Resources for Resilience Reconnect Trainings, and the Center for Trauma Resilient Communities Resilience Academies. This project is designed to strengthen resilience skills throughout the individual and organizational levels.
