Does Smart Start of Transylvania County provide child care services?

No. Smart Start of Transylvania County maintains the directory of local child care but does not directly provide child care, nor do we track openings or enroll children. For all questions specific to child care enrollment, please reach out directly to the child care center directors listed on the local child care directory.

Caregivers with questions about our family support services, including our Family, Friend, and Neighbor Care Network and our GetSet Babies Network, can reach out to our Community Engagement and Family Support Manager, Chelsea: chelsea@smartstarttransylvania.org

Child care program directors and early educators with questions regarding technical support or professional development opportunities can reach out to our Early Childhood Program Manager, Susan: susan@smartstarttransylvania.org

How do I stay up to date on SSTC and/or community partner events?

SSTC participates in a number of community events annually! The best way to stay up to date on upcoming events is to follow our social media pages on Instagram and Facebook.

I would like to meet directly with an SSTC staff member in-person. How do I set up a meeting?

Does SSTC manage the local child care subsidy program?

While SSTC supports local child care subsidy through our state funding allocations, we do not directly manage the child care subsidy program. All questions regarding qualifications for child care subsidy should be directed to Abby Pittman with Southwestern Child Development Commission: pittman.abby@swcdcinc.org
